It was confusing to us, trying to figure out where God's Thumbprint was and how Burke's Garden was related. Now we know that Burke's Garden is located inside the geological formation commonly called God's Thumbprint, an "elongated basin rimmed entirely by the Garden Mountain" according...More

We went there today and loved the scenery and peacefulness. This journey through this hidden valley was a treat and was like going back in time. Well worth the effort.

A drive through Burke's Garden is one of the most beautiful and relaxing things you can experience, even on a cloudy day. The "bowl" provides a beautiful view of green mountains in every direction and from a variety of locations throughout Burke's Garden. The fields...More

Magical place, great scenery. Some of the most beautiful farms you have ever seen. Note: Store is closed, probably for good. Bring a picnic with you. Store at bottom of mountain does not have hot food.

One of the beautiful places of America, I have visited 46 states and still think it is one of the natural treasures of America. Fond memories from my childhood as we lived in the Garden for several years.

A beautiful place to live! Great for hiking (part of the Appalachian Trail runs around the rim), biking or just plain sightseeing. Truly a gorgeous geographical wonder and truly, God's Thumbprint"!!

One of the prettiest drives I've been on in a while. Even though the day was rainy and dreary and it was windy and cold it was breathtaking. Well worth the drive. Very curvy road but well worth the drive.

We were on a motorcycle. And I assume you are asking about the bike trail. Try this phone number 276-762-0011. It's very beautiful in this part of Virginia. Have fun.

Take Exit #5 toward Tazewell. Stay on that road until first stop light, turn left and follow Rt. 61, passing hospital and YMCA. Stay on Rt.61 for several miles, turn right on Rt. 623 crossing mountain road to Burkes Garden.
