We didn't realize that we had actually been to the Park on a previous visit. However, more recently, we were there in the winter, and took in the small historical exhibit on the English landing on the site. We were also impressed by the plaque...More

Beautiful scenery of the ocean and unspoiled beaches. Nice place for quiet picnic and nice trails for walking and biking.

My wife and I went for a nice 5 mile hike through the park and the “Great Dismal Swamp.” It was relatively easy, mostly flat. It’s not the most scenic hike, but the trails are well marked and easily accessible from Virginia Beach. The park’s...More

I love First Landing. Really. It took me a long time living in VAB before I made my way here and now I come several times during summer. There is plenty of parking except on typical holidays and beautiful weekends that are unseasonably warm when...More

I come here often for the beach, cabins and walking trails. It’s just down the street from where I live but I love renting a cabin just to get away from it all. The cabins are always clean and have almost everything I need. I...More

First Landing State Park is the best place to do long trail runs in the Virginia Beach Area. On the trail side of the park, it is easy to do 10+ mile runs here on out and back loops. There are nice bathroom facilities at...More

Just came here today, December 1st. Very windy on the beach, but kids were still able to play in the sand, the welcome center was clean and welcoming.

Just a note about dogs: Between Memorial Day and Labor Day they can only be on the beach before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and have to be on a leash. The leash part is pretty lax as long as they are under control.
