Virginia Beach has done it right with this boardwalk made of concrete. It is great for walking, running, or biking. A 3 mile stretch along the beach and behind the hotels and restaurants on Atlantic Ave. During this cold spring it is windy and very...More

Make sure you check the rules for the time of year you go and the times that the furry part of the family can join you walking the boardwalk and beach.

Got to see King Neptune and other sculptures, walk on the sandy beach and saw shark egg cases everywhere, that was different! Just be careful walking down to the boardwalk and beach as there's a track for runners, bicyclists, etc. and they really book through...More

We have been going to Virginia Beach for 14 years now. Things have changed. It used to be THE ABSOLUTE BEST place for families, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Profanity abounds everywhere. As we walked down the boardwalk, family in tow,...More

What a fun place to be and dog friendly. Love how dogs are everywhere. It's nice to walk the boardwalk. Lots of parking, and most of it reasonable. Plenty of shops and places to eat. And the beach is gorgeous!

What a beautiful place to visit. The weather was so nice. Not busy at all this time of year. Can't wait to take my kids here someday soon.

In busier months, parking can be annoying but we arrived in early April and enjoyed a very easy experience. We bring our dog and the kids like to ride bikes.

Because the weather was unseasonably cold in April (50's), we did not have the opportunity to swim in the ocean, but we did walk along the beach which was coated in soft, VERY clean sand, and seemed to go on for MILES! The boardwalk area...More
