We watched a short video and then had a private tour guided by a very nice lady who knows every detail about the property. I found it most interesting and well worth a visit.

Allow 1-2 hours as there’s a short video, well led tour with interesting architectural points, lovely grounds, and a small but informative museum. Tucked away so glad for gps. Well worth visiting.

They have a visitor center that is pretty new and very nice. It cost me $8.00 for the tour. I took the 30-minute tours and it was nice. I would not plan on any more than an hour from door to door.

The Thoroughgood House is a wonderful historic home with gardens, a river view, and period furnishings. The Thoroughgoods were one of the foremost settlers in the area.
