I have always had a fondness for this statue and the story behind her replica. I was glad to see and read the history of the shipwrecks.

We stumbled upon this statue while walking along the boardwalk...having never known that it exists. It is very detailed & the inscription is very moving. Definitely worth taking the time to check it out.

This is truly educational and should be read and seen by all the visitors to Virginia Beach. The shipwreck discussed in this monument is important.

The Virginia Beach boardwalk has some interesting things to look at while enjoying a walk, and this is one of them. This statue commemorated a ship wreck and lives lost from an accident back in the 1800's.
