We were vacationing in Williamsburg and wanted to do something active/low cost. The only cost was $4 for parking, which I was happy to spend to support this park. We just hiked, but if you're into fishing, bird watching, or horseback riding you would definitely...More

If you can, walk down to Fossil Beach. It's along the York Rivers. Not only is it scenic, but actually has fossils.

We enjoyed walking the riverwalk trail in Yorktown and then stopping at a local restaurant. It's a good place for an easy, laid back little jaunt.

If you want to walk or ride bikes this part has great trails. It’s well maintained and clean. Beautiful views of the water. Perfect place to put your kayaks in and just paddle around in peace.

Fossil beach was like stepping back in time. Great hike even on a chilly day. Kids loved it. Maybe not worth a long drive , but if you're in the area and have an afternoon to blow. Lots of birds, herons, egrets, terns, and osprey...More

This was the second park I visited while in town. It was so peaceful and practicfally a ghost town when I was there. There are long boarded paths to walk in addition to beautiful beaches to enjoy. Parking is a few dollars.

I regularly go on a bird walk in this park, but today I experienced a real thrill watching an eagle release. Hoping the birds are able to thrive in the wild after healing from injuries.

How have I lived here my whole life and never been to this spot? I hate to give my new secret but I hope everyone will take a moment to enjoy this beautiful spot.

Summer rains (no lightning) allow for a different view of the park when hiking. The trails are easily traversed and even a bit more fun with the puddles that sometimes occur. We enjoyed seeing some of the wildlife out and about in the rain.

There are plenty of beaches, but I've never had luck unless I'm on a pier, which YRSP doesn't really have. Your better better is in Yorktown. I'm addition, I'm not sure what the regulations are for crabbing at the State... More

There's only a parking fee that you pay before entering the park. A Ranger isn't always present at the entrance and an honor system is in place.
