We spent a chilly afternoon exploring this great park. It is well maintained and just a great place. We hiked a trail that was the perfect length with lots of ups and downs. There were look-out areas from which you could look out at the marsh land that was between the trail and the actual river. The trail was cleared... More

Bring your horse and go for a ride. Or canoe or kiyak. Or just go for a walk. Fossil beach is interesting. Look for eagles. There is plenty to see and do next to the beautiful York River

York River State Park is a very serene setting whether you just enjoy the views of the trails and beaches or delight in jogging or walking along the paths provided. Several very good casual dining places nearby, along with some quaint shops.

Great hiking trails for groups or just walking the dog. Excellent views of the York River and the nature surrounding it. Guided tours are excellent and explore the Fallen Tree that is about 200 years old.

Great stories told by the rangers. Very historical, romantic and well documented. Lots to see and a bit of a hike but not in elevation so all doable.

We love to explore and hike a bit. There were many trails to choose and they were well posted. We walked along Fossil Beach and along the cute foot bridge. We want to come back and spend more time as there is a lot to see.

There was a wine festival going on and there were rides on Schooner Ships. These ships were ships that sailed in the 1700's approx.

This is a great choice for a day in nature around Williamsburg, VA. The park is located about 20 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg and sits on the York River. The park offers water rentals and even has a stocked pond for fishing. I grew up on the horse trails that allowed for great day rides and conditioning. The park is... More
