Our mission at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum is to ignite creativity, spark curiosity and inspire learning in visitors of all ages by providing a rich variety of interactive, hands-on exhibits and programs that focus on the sciences and mathematics, the humanities, and the arts.All exhibits, activities and experiences provided by the Discovery Museum adhere to the following philosophical guidelines:Exhibits, activities and programs are interactive, participatory and informal, and give visitors opportunities to experiment, have fun playing, use their imaginations and share ideas.Visitors are engaged at their own level of expertise and experience.Activities and programs are multi-sensory, authentic, honest, and factual.The Museum works in a spirit of cooperation and partnership with educational, cultural, governmental and community organizations.

My family often came across a Discovery Museum in larger cities - Baltimore, Philly, etc. When one came to our little town, we were overjoyed. Apparently, so was everyone else since it was so popular, it needed a bigger building - one with four floors....More

I took my 3 year old neice there and she had a blast. She loves the 1st floor thr most as there is an ambulance place to "dig" for fossils, and a huge tube toy in which they let me go through with her...its supposed...More

A great place for children to explore and play. A popular local attraction. Good place for toddler birthday parties. The kids seem to love it here.

Very inexpensive stop on our way through to our vacation. Lots of things to keep the kids busy for a couple of hours. Great staff also.

My nephew loves coming to visit and he loves the museum. Great hands on exhibits that let the kids explore AND help you reinforce learning. You can be there ALL day! just be ready for crowds. it can get really busy on the weekends! but...More

Better for the younger children. My 6 year old grandson loved it when he was 3 and he was bored in 15 minutes last summer.

My then 12 year old loved it!! Even my 17 year old enjoyed the exhibit upstairs
