We visited the museum on a Friday & it was very helpful to view the websites calendar to see when they were scheduled to have large groups come so we could plan around it. Bring an extra tshirt for after the fun water table on level 2! NO STROLLERS ALLOWED, they have to be checked at the door, so plan... More

The museum is a fun place to entertain kids for a few hours. I took my 10 and 12 year old boys and they actually were entertained for about 1.5hrs. It's a small building but the exhibits are interesting, fun and educational. We'd go back but I think they may be getting too old for it. It's geared more for... More

We recently attend their Friday Evening event for Special Needs Children. The staff were very accommodating. We received a Map of the Museum with special sensory areas denoted. The children had fun even my teens enjoyed the night with the Animal Services Group and activities. Thank you for offering this event!

Hi SkiTech! Thank you for your review, but we are afraid you may have written about our friends at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum does not have a cafe. If you have little ones we'd love for you to come visit us as well! More

We drove over from Manassas to this fun place. It's a great hands-on museum for kids of all ages. Four floors of interactive fun a block from the Old Town promenade. Friendly staff encourage the kids to touch, feel and explore everything "except the elevator buttons." Various supervised activities for the kids throughout the day. Call ahead and find out... More

If you take the time to stop and read the various exhibits, it is very educational and enjoyable. Lots to learn about the human body and our senses as well as general science topics. Our kids didn't want to leave.

This museum is a top rate museum of exploration designed to accommodate the curiosities and interests of children and adults alike. Especially children ! The staff are very good with children, and the patience that it takes to explain the experience they will have at the museum, and its exhibits

The Discovery Museum is a wonderful place for kids and adults! The museum takes advantage of every inch of space in creative and engaging ways. The museum changes and adds to their exhibits often to keep it engaging so it's worth going again and again.

What a day we had with our 3.5 year old grandson! The drive from Bethesda was 90 minutes on a beautiful, sunny fall day. He was thrilled to watch Daniel Tiger on our iPad (an activity saved for long drives) while we enjoyed the early colors and rolling hills as we left the hubbub of the DC area. We arrived... More
