It is sad that more people don't notice what we have right in our backyard, it is beautiful and relaxing and a great place to just hang out, camp or picnic!

The drive up and down the mountain is a little nerve-wracking if you're not used to that terrain, but it is well worth it. The view from the observation tower is spectacular, plenty of parking at the top. Coming back down the mountain, we went...More

Gorgeous 360 degree view from the top of the observation tower. Gently sloping paved path up to it; no stairs required. Beautiful wild flowers along the paths. Decent parking area. A quick stop on the same road up to Flag Rock Recreation Area.

I had never been here before, but WILL be back again to explore even more of the place. The trails were well marked and everything was well maintained.

Words can't describe the recreational opportunities that abound in this area. It is nature at its best! Proud of the work the US Forest Service is doing with this natural resource area. Great job!

We visited at the end of our work week with the Appalachian Service Project. The countless switchbacks on the mountain made the trip up very exciting but the view is amazing. Even on a hazy July day you could see miles and miles in every...More
