It is located just south of Larabee State park. You can spot a little sign pointing off of Chuckanut Dr. towards Clayton Beach. It is a bit of a hike out and there's no public bathrooms along the way. But if you make it, it is worth it. You can usually find this beach far less crowded than at Larabee... More

My boys are 6 and 8 and we've gone here several times over the last year. The trail is family friendly and interesting--there's one section with a big but not too intimidating rock face, and you get to cross railroad tracks. There's driftwood, rocks, a big sand hill, and the bay. Doesn't get much better folks!

I love hiking here they have a lot of little hidden things along the coast and a ton of little private beaches.

Most beautiful beach I've seen in long time!!! And had no one on it which is KEY. I think only locals mainly go here.. because most people can't find it (yay!). It's a very long, sandy beach.. only takes maybe 10-15 min to hike down to from Chuckanut Drive. If you are not staying on the main trail and not... More

I loved laying on the sand at Clayton Beach, and sharing a picnic lunch with a friend. The sound of the water lapping at the shore made it a very relaxing, tranquil location.

My husband and I often pack a picnic basket and hang out at Clayton Beach. Our dog loves to play in the water and we enjoy tide pooling when the tide is low. Best place in Belingham to find beautiful purple starfish. I just wish people would enjoy the starfish with their eyes and not feel as though they had... More

I live in Bellingham and visit Clayton Beach several times a year. I love walking south on the beach at low tide, pas the curious old pilings. Check the tides before you go. The kids love to climb around on the rock formations and listen to the resonances in the sandstone cavities and find shells and check out tide pool... More

I just moved here. Where do you park to access this beach? I am looking for a particular rock climbing spot, but I have explored a lot of Larrabee State Park and it is amazing!!

This beach in Larabee State Park is a little hike form the parking lot...and might be hard for older people. We took our little kids and they where fine. The beach is rocky and has drift wood, it is a stopping place for kayaks too. We had fun wading out and looking for shells..
