Captain Steve and Naturist Dena did a great job -- personable,,, great interaction with the passengers ... and, best of all, found a whale pod when there were few around. Spent a great deal of time with the pod including a large male - and...More

Our family has gone out to whale watch twice with Outer Island Expeditions and both times have been amazing. The staff is friendly, especially to kids, and very knowledgeable. Another great reason to use this company is the range and speed of their boats, it...More

This was our first time whale watching and we found it to be so very exciting from the beginning to end. We were able to see five different whales from the local "L" resident Pod, which had returned just the night before. With Cpt. Paul's...More

I don't think you can review an expedition outfitter based on whether you saw a fin or a tail or a breech. Nature is not like Sea World and these amazing creatures don't show up or perform on demand. What you are looking for is...More

We have been taking the Anacortes Outer Island Whale watching tours for at least 5 years and have never been disappointed and can hardly wait till next season. Each trip is different and always see whales with excellent nature guide along with Captain. Highly recommend.

We were very pleased with our whale watching cruise . The captain knew right where to go, maintained a safe distance away as required by law. He seemed to anticipate the whales movement and kept us as close as allowed. The nature guide on board...More

There were 7 of us, 2 had never kayaked before, and we all had a FANTASTIC TIME! It consisted of our 'extended ' family-Grown up! Paul and Katie P. were awesome guides. Helpful to those unknowable about kayaking. They were great guides, pointing out interest...More

We did this two years ago. You take the power boat some distance out to where the orcas tend to be. We haven't forgotten how wonderful it was when they turned off the noisy motor and let us just watch the many orcas, for whom...More

This is an event that should be taken by adults and older children. The Captain and Crew took us right to the area where the Three Pods J-K-L. were meeting to socialize. The members of the crew were Dillon, Eric and Ryan and all knew...More

Katie P. Was Great! Very knowledgeable about the flora & sea life. Can't say enough good about her. Kayak rudder didn't work as true for several kayaks - made the trip harder.

There are no buses but if you are just going for the day there is a cab service. It is not walkable from the ferry.

At times we were seeing two different pods (one at a distance) on either side of the boat. We saw over 25 whales (orcas) on our trip. First saw the ladies, then the males. (I guess the travel separately?) And saw two... More
