We visited there 2017 Aug 25-27. Picture Lake loop is so easy. You could go through the loop with a stroller. It's less than 1km, very flat. Best visited in late afternoon, so the light is from west and you look to east to see...More

Beautiful, place in the State of Washington, not too commercialized, excellent natural beauty, nice drive with waterfall on the way. Highly recommend. Have a full tank of gas if you go.

Visited this area in the afternoon and early morning before we left Glacier. Hiked through the snow across the many mounds of snow. Beautiful views. Parking lot had just been somewhat plowed the week earlier. Breathtaking.

A breathtaking summer destination. Picture lake is amazing to stroll around, and the meadows at the base of the chairlifts have snow in July, with 80 degree weather. A pretty little river runs through Maple Falls and Glacier. Just a lovely destination!

I recommend flying to Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA or Bellingham, WA and drive to Mount Baker ski area. Seattle will be furthest to drive to Mount Baker.

Not sure if you are asking about staying up at the ski area or closer to Glacier. In Glacier there are several smaller bar/restaurants, I would highly recommend the Italian Restaurant Milanos
