Housed in a majestic Beaux Art mansion overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, Maryhill Museum of Art is one of the NW's most fascinating cultural destinations. Explore world-class European & American art, an extensive American Indian art collection, sculptures and watercolors by Auguste Rodin - one of the largest collections in the US - and much, much more. Cafe, museum shop, sculpture garden, & picnic grounds on-site.

In 2012 the museum opened its 25,000 square foot Mary & Bruce Stevenson Wing, featuring a dedicated arts education suite, a cafe with terrace seating and sweeping views of the Gorge and Mount Hood.

We have been to Maryhill a few times for our son to longboard. This year we went to the museum to ask about the road and ended up visiting. What a hidden gem. It was interesting for all of us including our two teenagers. Definitely stop by if your are in the area.

It is a must to watch the introductory video offered--it's in the room nearest where you enter. We found the theater exhibit the most interesting. Be sure to walk out on the patio, the views are to die for.

Worth checking out if you are heading to Maryhill Winery or passing through the gorge. It will take about 2-3 hours and on a sunny day, the view is spectacular! Very friendly and helpful reception when you get there. Make sure to check out the Stonehedge which is less than 5 minutes away.

This museum has outside art on the beautiful grounds and amazing inside art. The new wing displays art pottery. There is a terrific Native American displays showing baskets and regalia and there is a new section on Alaska baskets, tools and clothing. A great place for a group of girlfriends to stroll and share in the collection. It's a very eclectic collection of items, from paintings, furniture, Native American displays to chess sets in this home overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. The views are spectacular and the story of the home Sam Hill had built for his wife Mary are worth stopping... More

I cannot even begin to say how amazing this place is. It overlooks the Columbia River. The art is beyond amazing! The building is gorgeous, the grounds are gorgeous. The caliber of art is phenomenal from the Rodins to the Romanian gold artifacts to the tiny fashion house dolls. The details.. I could go on and on. I was blown... More

Have seen the striking building from I-84 many times. Finally visited. Queen of Romania room gives a striking look into pre-WW I European royalty life. Interesting exhibits of Sam Hill (ever heard the phrase?), icons, and even chess sets. Don't miss the comparison exhibits of native americans. Beautiful views of the Columbia River and upper gorge showing the effects of... More
