Its an interesting land form. Its a bit to crowded for my taste. i have bern to better places. Roads nartow. Blind curves drive slow through privste land with farm animals.

We didn't stay in the campground but enjoyed walking around the spit. You can rent kayaks here as well. The campground was small and you would not be able to take a large RV.

If they had showers, I would have given them an excellent rating. Very nice clean bathrooms. Our camp site totally private....never stayed in one quite like it. Hedges about 6' tall totally enclosed the site. Most sites appeared to be similar. Love state parks and this one didn't disappoint. There is a beach area to launch kayaks or small boats... More

Take the time to go all the way out on the spit to see the historical site. Cannot imagine what life was like back in the day there at that site. Great park for hiking, camping, sailing, or just roaming the beach area.

Campsite #1 was spacious and private. Most other sites looked very private as well, plenty of trees and bushes separating sites from each other. Our young kids had a great time biking around the campground and playing at the small playground. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the beach (easy walking distance from campsites), the spit, the log cabin at the... More

This park is very quiet. When I went there, the campground was full, yet you could hear a pin drop. There are so many trees that sound gets lost. This park does have moorage buoys, but no docks. beware that the dramatic tide change creates large currents so rowing a boat is very difficult.

I've been making Spencer Spit a yearly event for a long time now. Great campsites and the spit is the perfect place to start a driftwood fire in one of the fire rings and cook dinner. One of my favorite places in the San Juan Islands.

We stayed in a house within walking distance so we went several times at different time of day. Went to the spit very early at low tide and saw clams spitting water. Came back again in the morning and explored some shirt trails. You can rent kayaks at the spit. Nice folks handle the rentals. Saw seals! Do take the... More

Everything was amazing. Great camping spots and close hike to beach. There are a lot of western yellow jackets though. We kayaked with the kids and did mini visits to the village for treats and showers. Good restrooms and park.
