Camping, hiking, beachcombing, kayaking, yoga, music festivals, WWll bunkers to explore, military museum, interruptive center, simply a fantastic, historical, lovely place to spend a day or a week. Something for everyone. If you don't camp, there are beautiful officers' quarters from WWll era, to rent, good for large groups, also. Get out and explore!!

Since our trip to Port Townsend was such a last minute thing, I did not do as much research as I normally would. Based on the reviews, I knew Fort Worden had to be at the top of the list for beachcombing. We were not disappointed!! When we first got there (4pm), it was gray and a little misty –... More

There are many beautiful views at Fort Worden, lots of trails, beaches, camping facilities. It's one of my very favorite spots in the world.

We walked all around for over an hour and really enjoyed the scenery, animals etc. etc. I think we did about 10,000 steps - great for ones health.

Fort Worden sits on a portion of land just up the hill from downtown Port Townsend. On this occasion my wife and I chose to walk rather than drive in order to peak in at the quaint neighborhood homes of Port Townsend. For persons of a certain age, we remember the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman" which was shot... More

While visiting Port Townsend (what a beautiful, quaint small community) I wanted to experience some of the history of this area and explored Fort Worden State Park. The location is perfect and accessibility is easy and can be seen in a day. I liked the fact that I had plenty of opportunity to walk around. since I had a dog... More

I stayed right next to the park. Beautiful beach that appears to extend for miles. But watch out, i was almost caught out by the high tide. Very interesting artillery batteries from the late 19th century (against whom?), beautiful forest. Waves splashing over the lighthouse. Next time, i'll bring the tent and stay there.
