Founded in 1982, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center is a non-profit 501c3 educational organization whose mission is to inspire conservation of the Salish Sea. The PTMSC provides place-based, people powered, hands-on learning for all ages including youth camps, exhibits of marine flora and fauna, educational and historical displays, citizen science programs and community-based lecture series. Located at Fort Worden State Park, Port Townsend, Wash., the PTMSC offers two public exhibits: the Marine Exhibit and the Natural History Exhibit.

Great place to shop a bit, learn more about this area and grab a coffe. It is located right on the water. Views are marvelous. Snow capped mountains in the distance and watching the ferry come in right in front of you.

This was a nice place to be able to touch sea anemones, sea stars, geoducks etc. in salt water tanks. Friendly staff answered questions and hand sanitizer was available on the way out. Great experience spot for children.

I ended up here on a whim and am I glad I did! It was small, but had a lot to offer. The volunteers were so helpful and friendly! Peter walked me around and educated me on everything there. It was amazing!

The best salt water petting zoo I've seen. Great for all ages, with terrific volunteer energy. Don't miss the Orca annex across the street.

Great view from the dock with a couple picnic tables. Watched people set crab pots over the railing. Very educational exhibits including water tables with marine life-fun for the kids!
