Located in the original city hall and jail, now refurbished and operated by the historical society. The city council still meets on the second floor. First and basement floors dedicated to a really well constructed history tour and art museum.

Funny that when we asked a native person from Port Townsend that they could not direct us to the museum. We found it on our map and enjoyed the history and all of our our questions were answered by the person at the desk.
A very interesting little museum that is an essential first port of call for visitors in understanding the history of Port Townsend. Friendly staff and well presented, it offers good value for money and is very child friendly. They will love the jail!
