One thing off my bucket list. The day was sunny, the tide was low enough and we had plenty of time to hike to the lighthouse. BE SURE TO CHECK THE TIDE TABLES before going! We've been to the spit many times, and it's always...More

It was nice to have a final destination for this 11 mile RT hike. There were picnic tables, restrooms, water, and friendly guest "keepers." Bring a lunch!

If you are a lighthouse lover, the New Dungeness Lighthouse is a neat place to visit. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. It requires a very long (11 mile round trip) walk in the sand (or a boat) to reach the lighthouse.

Always a favorite hike when friends visit. It is long, but flat and fun to explore the beach, and have a lunch when one reaches the lighthouse.

I checked with my friend and, after spending a week there as a lighthouse keeper, she never saw a single dog so my guess is no, dogs aren't allowed there on the beach or in the lighthouse. They may be okay in the campground... More
