Took our 8 year old for fun with learning, and we have come back several times a year every year for the past 4 years. There is something for every age, and it is gratifying to learn about our local area as well as the state and Northwest Pacific region.

Tacoma's children's museum is a fun place for pre-school through lower grade kids. There are plenty of climbing and water play areas. The craft area, with five or six stations, was probably the best thing. There were a few things to play and try, as well as a some make and takes. We had a 4 and 6 year old... More

Great place for kids to roam and explore. So many great rotating areas of play and exploration. Just need to walk around and follow your child to supervise their play. Great indoor play time to encourage their creativity and learning.

This was our first visit and we had our two granddaughters (both under 5). The museum is free but donations are accepted. It's a small facility without any onsite eating. We parked a few blocks away and used the Tacoma Link line which stops a block away. The girls had a great time. It was crowded but keeping them entertained... More

Lots of stuff for the kiddies. Sadly, nothing for their older siblings. Been going there for years but with youngest grandson now 7, nothing there of interest anymore. They need to come up with a few 8-10 YO fun stuff.

We spent several hours in this museum with a three-year-old who found so much to explore and play with. So many different areas, each well laid out. For example, the water area had several stations that allowed kids to splash, pour, and divert, protected by provided rubber aprons. There were rope structures to climb on, slides, art supplies. Great.

I took my cousin's kid here and regretted it. The previous year I took him to the Hands On Children's Museum of Olympia, which cost about the same, had easily twice the activities, plus an outdoor area. And the activities in Olympia were more interesting. The kid got BORED at the Tacoma one after about an hour, and spent the... More
