Check out the conservatory

The conservatory was alive with tropical flowers and plants on a "dark and stormy day". Beautiful gem in the stadium district.

At roughly 130 years old, this park is a surprising 27 acres in the middle of the Stadium district. Well kept walkways and a gorgeous Arboretum are well worth a day visit or picnic. With restaurants nearby, planning a day in the park is easy. Recommend daytime only - Metro Parks has yet to take steps to discourage criminal activity... More

Tacoma has a bunch of nice parks - but this one is themed to satisfy the greatest variety of interests. The statues and figures that dot its landscape are picturesque and elegant. The activities range from walking, running, playgrounds, arboretums, museums, medical care (Tacoma Gen is across the street), dining opportunities (again, across the street - including to soon-to-be-opened "Rhine... Located close to the heart of downtown Tacoma, the park has excellent walking paths, a pond with ducks that gratefully accept your bread donations, and the enchanting Seymour Observatory, a glassed-in botanical garden from the turn of the last century, i.e. around 1900.

A lovely city park with tremendous old trees, sprawling lawns, basketball court, amazing water playground for the kids, jogging, dog-walking, or just sit and eat a lunch in some nature.

Cute convenient park for quick walks. At least there are less bums so okay safety wise. Go if nearby

This park is beautiful. Right across from Tacoma General Hospital. You run into the occasional homeless person, but it is mostly folks walking around and enjoying a day at the park. Some kid play areas also. This is a good size park but not impossible to walk. A nice break from the hustle of downtown Tacoma.

Did you know that Wright Park is the second largest urban park in the country? Can you guess which one beats it in size? If you guessed Central Park in NYC you got it right. Around the turn of the 19th/20th century, Charles Wright, was instrumental in the development of Tacoma. At the time Tacoma was to become the main... More

This is a fairly large urban park located just off 6th Avenue in Tacoma. The park is well maintained with a large green house located on the north side of the park which hold a large variety of tropical plants. It's a good place for a family picnic and best of all it's FREE!
