We visited in October and had a fantastic experience. Diane, who works at the visitor center, was so knowledgeable. She is truly a treasure and a great asset to the entire region. She gave us great recommendations for our whole trip, including wineries with excellent food, wineries on the vineyard itself, hikes, and restaurants. The center had maps, regional tour books, and pamphlets for the whole region. We used the advice from the visitor’s center and Diane even when in neighboring Red Mountain!

We stopped in to ask a few questions about Mt. Rainier National Park yesterday. The young man who assisted us was very friendly and courteous.
He was very knowledgeable. He not only helped with park information, but told us about housing up and down the area.
He helped us locate a a good barbecue restaurant.
Stopping here was a big help.

We need an escape from the Seattle clouds, so we headed to Yakiima for the weekend. Knowing we needed to do something more than drink wine (well, geez, it was 10am, people!), we headed to the visitors center. It's a lovely place, and the woman working there took the time to find out what we were interested in and then made suggestions. Very helpful.
I would love to see some more non traditional offerings in these visitors centers...not just the standard fare. The offbeat, unique...certainly every region has them.

We stopped at the Yakima Valley Visitors Center on our arrival in town as we had never been to this city before. We had a few questions and the woman who worked there answered them all very efficiently. She showed us the locations on a map which we took with us, and she told us where to find other items we were looking for.
The center is clean and bright although the washroom needed a bit of attention. There are some wines available in the gift section and apparently they offer tastings although we did not see anybody doing so. There is a place to sit outside and the center is visible from the highway. I would highly recommend this place for people to get their bearings before beginning their exploration of the area.

i love stopping in at the visitors center because it has a wealth of area info, a clean bathroom, local items and wine for sale in their small gift shop. it's also a nice place to stop if you're in the area for winery hopping because you can get a quick inventory (and taste) of what wines, wineries and cellars are in the area.
every time i stop in the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating whether it's just me or a group of us with a bunch of questions and varied needs. great visitors center and it definitely does yakima a great service!

Lady met us immediately upon our arrival and proceeded to gain knowledge on us as we gained knowledge of Yakima. I know we spent an hour there going through information and events. One of the better Information Visitor Centers we have visited on our many travels. Thank You for the local maps and points of interest for visit during our 1-week stay.

My sister and I visit Yakima every August. We always stop by the Visitors Center for new brochures and to talk to the volunteers staffing the center. We always come away with new ideas of places to visit. I recommend it to anyone passing through or just poking around Yakima. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

We stopped here when my daughter and husband moved up to Yakima. They have suggestions about wineries and sell coupon booklets for $10 which allows you free and discount tasting up and down the valley.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. They carry better quality made in Washington souvenirs. I stop in to purchase small gifts for family and friends who live out of state. I always thought it was a good location for travelers to see on the highway.
