My wife and I went to North Bend with her parents and stayed in a cabin. We brought our 1&1/2 year old German Shepherd pup and he had a blast on the trails and around the cabin. There are trails everywhere to hike and enjoy. The rail trail is neat. I found out my father worked on the actual railroad... More

North Bend State Park is a great place to stay. The cabins are comfortable and clean and prices reasonable. There are hiking and biking trails, fishing, swimming, kayaking and canoeing on the Hughes River, as well as a regular schedule of fun events for the whole family.

We walked on the Rail Trail and boated on North Bend Lake - both very interesting. There are bike and boat rentals during warmer months, or bring your own. The lake has lots of dead trees and stumps, making boat navigation challenging but fun. This was a family reunion and so we rented the large pontoon boat. Next time we'll... More

We rented a cabin for the weekend, it was extremely relaxing and quiet! The cabin has most necessary items needed. During our stay we ate at the lodge where we found the food to be great!

West Virginia's North Bend State Park (located about 25 mi E or Parkersburg off of US 50) is a beautiful state park with nice campgrounds (although only Cokeley campground has water hookups). Very nice lodge which offers 3 meals a day (and pretty good FREE internet service, too!). PLEASE BE ADVISED: If you are getting to the park by means... More

We just had a great weekend tent camping and bike ride on the North Bend rail trail . We took a shuttle ride from the campground, provided by our friendly state park ranger to Happy Vally. Ride back to the campground , about 30 miles, slight grade up and down, well maintained trail except for about about 100 yards at... More

Always enjoy stopping and staying at North Bend State Park (lodge and campground) on the motorcycle. Helpful staff in a park with great features. Nice restaurant, too.

Drove a couple hours to spend a day here. Appears to be a family-oriented state park. While we only did some hiking & kayaking there were plenty of families camping here. There were playground areas, a pool & areas for biking. It appears dated. The main building as you enter the park needs some TLC. It had a small gift... More

My husband and I had a short drive into the park with our dog. There are so many things to do I'd you have time to take advantage of them! There are trails to hike our bike, a pool, restaurant and lodge.
