Enjoyed the 8 hour trip immensely. The morning started out cold and foggy but by the time the train got out of city the fog was lifting and the sun was shinning. The leaves were turning so the trip was extra special. The river was...More

The Parlor Car are the best seats on the train. When you come back down the mountain the back of the car is all Windows, the view spectacular. This was a fun trip on a fabulous old train. My grandfather was a railroad engineer for...More

One of the neatest tourist train trips we've ever taken! We took the Cheat Mountain Salamander, round-trip 8.5-hour to Spruce. We rode in the "table" car because we wanted a comfortable place to sit, eat and do crosswords or read. We liked the open sandwich...More

This is a nice trade ride through the WVa mountains usually with a reasonable sandwich buffet lunch. Strongly recommended

Our rail adventure was on September 9th at 5:30pm. We booked the Upgraded Parlor Service (Car P-120) because it provides a more intimate setting and all passengers must be at least 12 yrs old. It is worth the extra price! Our meal was DELICIOUS! We...More

We enjoyed our ride in the parlor car but didn't find the scenery as striking as we thought it might be. The falls are lovely and we appreciated the historical info on the speaker but we probably won't do it again.

Took the 8 hr train ride. Went by a waterfall and up the mnt to where an old town used to be. Those two stops had nice views. Also went through one tunnel. Enjoyable for a couple. Train had heat. Dress warmly and bring heavier...More

My husband and I took the advice of other TripAdvisor reviewers and booked a seat in the parlor car of the train. Absolutely the right decision - nice tables with super comfortable chairs. We took the four hour round trip to Cheat Falls. After starting...More

Yeah, no problem. You may not get down steps to some falls attractions but the train rides should be good.
