A tad overpriced, but a nice scenic journey to a set of falls on the Cheat River. The falls were amazing and you get plenty of time to explore. The staff on the train are very friendly, but the lunch was a bit lackluster.

This was an excellent adventure. IF you are not traveling with children, GET THE PARLOR CAR if you can. The windows are larger, and on the return trip, you can see inside the tunnel. Tables for 2 and they serve alcohol (although I didn't do...More

Great day trip. My wife and I took the four hour trip up to the falls. Beautiful ride up the mountain and back. Pay the extra for the Parlor Car!!! Best views in the whole train. If you are lucky enough to get table 1...More

Went on the midday, 4 hour excursion (round trip) from Elkins to the High Falls of Cheat. We traveled with our 3 young children ages 7, 5, and 2. The scene when you arrive in Elkins at the Depot with the locomotive parked right in...More

Quick trip away for the weekend and this was the perfect "something different" we needed. The lunch train trip was wonderful, we had great service. I chose the parlor car which was worth the extra charge. It felt roomier and we had table service. Also,...More

Took the Tygart Flyer on the 4 hour lunch trip. Pay the extra to sit in the Parlor Car (no kids under 12 allowed on this car). The windows are taller and wider, the seats are padded more, there are LESS people allowed in this...More

It's a typical train ride. The buffet is adequate, but it's sandwiches and has nothing particularly memorable. The staff was great, and went out of their way to help our elderly mother who had mobility issues. The stop to visit the falls was absolutely worth...More

What a great way to spend a day! If you go splurge on the parlor car it was a lot of fun . Great way to see the area and learn local history.
