We took off just on a sightseeing tour and ended up at the train station. The ride was great...lots of scenery, and at the falls plenty of time to look around and see what is there. Lunch was good and plentiful. Would recommend!

On our mystery weekend we stayed over to Sunday 7/10 and went on the Tygart Flyer train, it left Elkins Train Station at 11am, after we got turned around we were invited to start the cold cut Buffett. It had Chips, buns, turkey, ham, roast beef, the topping. Pasta salad, apple sauce, Three types of cookies, and ice tea, pink lemonade and... More

At first I was skeptical after reading reviews that the Cass trains were more scenic. The views on this trsin were enjoyable. The sandwhich buffet was yummy. It was build your own sandwhich, so being vegetarian i had cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard and mayonaise and loved my sandwhich.

Fantastic, we (Pap, Nan, Grandson13, granddaughter 11) all enjoyed the train ride and loved getting out at the Cheat Falls walking around before boarding train again. It was relaxing and great experience for all of us. Only one thing was the lunch was just Ok. So glad we did this trip

Whar a wonderful time. My husband and I had seats in the Parlor car which I would highly recommend the extra money to get these seats. We were able to board first and had a very relaxed environment. We enjoyed a sandwich lunch and the ability to get wine if you chose. The attendant in the Parlor car on this... More

Enjoyed the ride through the scenery. We even say a bear cub running through the woods. Rode in the Parlor Car. Comfortable chairs, fresh lunch, and delicious dessert. The falls are beautiful.

The New Tygart Flyer is a collection of old carriages from the days of the named trains like the Chieftain and pulled by (I believe) a 1940's diesel. The views along the river are stunning at times and well worth seeing. The buffet lunch is fine and the stop at the falls is pretty good but at around 18ft not... More

What a delightful snow covered train ride experience! Forecast for Elkins April 8-9th was 2-4 maybe 3-5 inches, but of course, as we topped the mountain on the Tygart Flyer, 10+ inches at the Falls of Cheat! BEAUTIFUL! We treated ourselves to the Parlor Car, probably would again if budget allowed. Price included sandwich buffet, chips, fruit, toss salad, dessert,... More

Took advantage of a weekend off to go and ride the first Flyer of the 2016 season and had a great time. At $57 for regular (covered) seating and more for the parlor car, it isn't cheap. However, it is a fifty mile round trip excursion and you get an all you can eat sandwich buffet, cookies, and drinks, so... More

This is a great activity for those who don't like a lot of "activity" or excitement. It was very long and dreary music and by the 1/2 way mark we were about to fall asleep. Our 8 year old did. Maybe would of been more exciting if the season was different. However on a positive note, everyone was very friendly... More
