Tour the fascinating world of radio astronomy and see the pioneering instruments of the 1950's to the world's premier single-dish telescope, the GBT! Entrance to the science center is FREE, includes admission to the exhibit hall. Green Bank is not only absolutely beautiful, it is also a place of scientific merit. The radio telescopes are world renowned.

As part of our family gathering weekend, we went to the observatory and it was marvelous. The guide answered lots of questions and was especially patient with some of the younger ones.

if you are in the area. Suggest you spare 2-3 hours so you can take the tour and look at their displays. Easy to spend an hour or so in their welcome area. The tour takes a while but should be part of your experience....More
