Huntington Museum of Art (HMA) opened on November 9, 1952. Incorporated in 1947, its creation was made possible by the generosity of the community and a group of citizens led by Herbert Fitzpatrick, who donated his art collection of 435 objects and 52 acres of land for the Museum's location. Today, as the only nationally accredited visual art museum of its size in the Tri-State region, HMA encompasses a permanent art collection of over 15,000 objects, ten exhibition galleries, an interactive education gallery, art reference library of over 26,000 volumes, 287-seat auditorium, tropical and subtropical plant conservatory, two outdoor sculpture courts, five studio workshops, two miles of hiking trails, and quarter-mile paved accessible Sensory Trail.

Good museum in beautiful setting. Tropical Conservatory shows orchids and interesting trees and plants. Good permanent collections including glass, much from the area.

Wonderful museum!! I was not expecting what awaited. The permanent collection and the special exhibits were both high quality and very interesting. I am so glad I chose to go. The gift shop was great, as well. I wish I had time to walk the trails...

I'm always delighted that Huntington has this museum... over the years of visiting the city, I've been in many times; there's almost always a pair of temporary or visiting exhibits, which over the years have been often very impressive. This visit featured the "lost" works of a woman artist, Edith Lake Wilkinson, who ultimately lived a tragic story (getting locked... More

I really enjoyed it, I think it's worthy visiting. It's free on Tuesday from 10:00-9:00, so I would really recommend to go there on Tuesday. But I have a question. Why don't they allow visitors to take pics of those beautiful paintings and ancient guns. Shouldn't beautiful things spread" that's the only reason I didn't give a 5--star rating. 我很喜欢,觉得值得一游。周二免费,好像是上午十点到下午九点,所以我推荐周二去。只是我有一个问题,为什么展区不允许照相呢?好看的东西不应该被更多人看到吗?所以我评分只给了四星。

Really interesting museum, lots of different types of art mainly from local but nationally acclaimed artists. It's only $5 to get in. I spent an hour and a half there. I was the only person there but I did visit lunch time mid week. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

Great museum for a smaller town. The conservatory is always my favorite place to visit and there is a plant that retracts its leaves when you touch it.

Impressive treasure trove in Huntington! Galleries with traveling and permanent collections; classes for adults, teens, and young children. Resident and visiting artist; regional Appalachian collections and docent led tours. Don't miss this gem perched overlooking the city.

This museum always has a variety of interesting exhibits. It also has hiking trails next to the museum that are well maintained and highlight the beauty of the local flora and fauna. Children will love the adventure of exploring the magic of the woods as well as the numerous rooms within the museum that transport its patrons to unknown places... More
