Many beautiful vistas to stop and relax to. Outhouse at each site with a bench or two, and some placards with interesting info. If you are in a hurry don't bother. Sip some wine and enjoy!

My buddies and I rode this on a recent trip and liked it so much we did it more than once. The road is very well paved and we only saw one other vehicle each time we rode it. It isn't a super twisty road...More

This well-kept highway provides views of the mountains that seem to go on endlessly, yet it is certainly "a road less- traveled"; no stop lights, no billboards, no buildings and very few motorists. It is the highest major roadway in West Virginia that extends 43...More

This is an excellent bicycle ride, also. All of the climbing presents quite a workout even for the most avid cyclist. You can create a nice loop by starting at Hills Creek Falls, up over the highway and then down into the town of Marlinton...More

The views are spectacular. Plenty of roads to venture off to from 219. A definite must ride road when coming to WV.

Skip the Highland Scenic Highway if you are traveling in April. I was at this particular location on April 27 and the leaves aren't on the trees yet making the 4 scenic overlooks drab. This is not to say the drive is bad. Just go...More

Many beautiful fall leaves and we stopped in an area with plaques of history and a gorgeous stream. We also stopped at an area called Cranberry Nature Center that had animals of that area on display and other interesting info. Very nice drive.

We enjoyed the drive on this scenic highway. There was a nature walk/trail with a boardwalk for you to explore the local plants and get a look at the forest and rest rooms if you needed the break.
