WVU in Morgantown, WV has always been a great venue for sports, but it is also a great spot for concerts and other activities that would otherwise not be available in a town this size.

Lots of options for students in Morgantown. Pittsburgh airport is close enough for travellers. Industry is alive and well, so finding a job wouldn't be too hard.
