Several historical markers are placed at the Mound and on 8/9 17 the city will be celebrating the city's 100th birthday at the mound with cake lemonade and ice cream and later burying a historical marker to be opened 100 years later

This is a trip back to ancient times in an unexpected location. This was excavated by the Smithsonian museum. Everyone should see this at least once.

Walked to the top while in the area, interesting site but suggest that you read the history of it before visiting.

This is one of many sites in the WV area however, like many this has been turned into more of park than a monument. Very little respect for Native Americans is shown by those who visit and the city.
