I remember when we could still drive on this bridge. My great-aunt used to tell me stories of seeing the circus come to town and seeing the elephants parading across the bridge. It's a must-see simply to marvel at old time engineering.

Always an awe inspiring site to see a bridge like this one ... and to think, all of those folks who climbed those cables and make our way home a wonderful drive!

I love walking across the old Suspension Bridge and looking down through the grates into the water. It's a truly unique experience.

Read the history of it on the sign on the main street side of the bridge. Travel over it everyday and the Casino is on the other side of the bridge.

The Roebling Suspension Bridge in Cincinnati has this one beat in my opinion, but this is a close second. I walk across the Roebling regularly but couldn't muster up the courage to take more than a couple steps out onto this one. It was very pretty to look at, day and night.

One of a kind door way to Wheeling! It's right next to Wheeling capitol theater, and its unique design and its history are just so incredible! Best for a walk tour on a warm sunny day.

If you are in Wheeling walk over the bridge. Historical markers tell about it. Nice view. Not much else to say.

This is a very old bridge. I love driving over it both day and at night when it is lighted by a string of light chains across the spans. Gives you a very nostalgic feeling to over the Ohio River on this thing.
