This turned out to be a really, really great activity. Cody the master falconer was gracious, funny and knowledgeable, treating the birds (and us humans) with a great amount of respect and enthusiasm. Highly recommend.

This was a great experience. The handler, Cody, was incredibly knowledgeable, answering our many questions. We were able to learn a great deal about the history and the different types of birds used in the sport. We got to have the hawk land on and feed out of our gloved hands, which was a thrill, especially for my 10-year-old daughter.... More

Just returned from here this past weekend...When making my reservation at the Greenbrier, I booked Falconry Lessons through the hotel. One of the reasons I chose the resort was to do these Falconry Lessons together. Once at the Outfitters Location, you are shuttled over to the farm across the road from the resort. Cody, the handler was very knowledgeable and... More

Beyond the grand and elegant interior spaces of the Greenbrier, is an activity within the grounds of the resort that is equally elegant in in it's history and opportunity-Falconry. In the presence of falcons, hawks, and owls, we learned of the origins and fascinating details of this sport of kings. The memorable highlights of our falconry experience include a hawk... More

I was ambivalent about this activity at the Homestead but went along because of friends-so glad I did. It was very interesting, I learned lots. The Falconer, Linda, was very knowledgeable and interesting. It was very different. You only get to see one bird out of its cage but you do get to interact. Only negative is that it is... More

At the falconry you get to see all of the falcons up close, you even get to touch the and hold them. It is a very cool experience since you can do this no where else. Also, you learn a lot about falcons and their nature.

My husband and were lucky enough to be the only ones who had registered for falconry that day, so we had a private lesson. When the resort is busier, group size can be up to 20 or so. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and offered lots of opportunities to ask questions. Because it was just us, we had the opportunity... More
