New this year are snowy owls, barred owls, and work has started on a new River otter exhibit. Certainly 5 stars due to being free...but even nicer than some places you pay for, so don't expect the San Diego Zoo, but expect to enjoy 45 minutes or so and another couple of hours if you add the park/Riverwalk to your... We went because of the tripadvisor reviews. It wasn't amazing. It wasn't boring. It was free, interesting, different. You do get to see wolves, that isn't really something you get to see even at zoo's. So overall, zoo-free. Park is a park. It was all ok. Be sure to read about it while you are there, you can appreciate it... More

This is a relatively decent zoo for a small town such as Baraboo. Small variety of animals, up close.

Was a great small zoo and was well kept. Had monkeys, owls, exotic cats, wolves, etc. It was a cute place to walk with my daughter on a nice Feb day.

This was a busy little zoo when we visited. They had Prairie dogs, which were fun to watch and photograph. The wolves exhibit was neat too. This is a good place to go with family and accommodates little children easily. At the time of our visit, there were some future exhibits in the works. Hoping they updated their wild cat... More

Free zoo, friendly and educated staff... can hardly wait for the otter exhibit. Great place to spend a half day.

We had a short time to waste in Baraboo. This zoo is easy to find, right in town. Free. My grandson loved the prairie dog exhibit. It took about 20 minutes to look at all the animals.

Most of the animals here are rescues and they seem very well cared for. It's nice to stop in and walk around to see how they're all doing and to see the newest rescues and progress on fundraising for new habitats.

How can you go wrong with a free zoo and park? I have been here numerous times in the last two years since moving to the Baraboo area, and each time has been great. There's a free parking lot on the south side of the zoo/park, as well as free street parking available along the east and south streets. Bathroom... More

When we first moved to Baraboo we were pleasantly surprised to find a free zoo in town. Over the years we have visited many times with our children and then our grandchildren. The prairie dogs have always been our favorite! Along with the playground and picnic areas Ochsner Park is a really nice place to spend some time with family.
