The mill is open on Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4pm, May-October. Beckman Mill is located at Beckman Mill County Park, 6 miles west of Beloit, Wisconsin. On the grounds of the 50-acre county park you will see an authentically restored 1868 grist mill, a new dam, mill pond, fish ladder, foot bridge, saw mill display, 1840s cooperage, visitor center, gift shop, creamery, blacksmith shop, picnic shelter, vintage garden, nature trail and more. The showpiece of the park is the Beckman Mill, the restoration of which was completed in 1997 by the Friends of Beckman Mill's volunteer work crew. It is operational with power being supplied by its original 1860s water driven Leffel turbine. In the event alternate power is needed, the mill can be operated by its vintage two-cylinder gasoline engine. The mill was built shortly after the Civil War by millwright William Howe of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In 1882 it was acquired by August Beckmann who had previously operated mills in nearby Juda and Hanover. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. Cold in February, but great place to walk along the water. We would love to see it in the summer too. There are walkways, bridges, and sights to see.

Quiet county park with lots of parking, restrooms, rentable pavilion, fishing and weekend activities. We have had family photos taken here on several occasions.

We attended a graduation party at the Beckman Mill and took tour for the buildings around the park. Much to learn about the history of the mill. The attendant was very informative and answers any questions you might have.

Great historic mill. The sits on a beautiful mill pond with a terrific dam. There are tours so you can see what it was like to mill grain back in the day. There is also a Cooperage house where wooden barrels were made. Old tools...More

This park has a lot to offer for photo shots. There is an old tractor, some stone buildings, benches, wooden buildings, the water, a dam, a wooden bridge, tall grass w/ wild flowers and large rocks.

This is a great place to take a quiet stroll and enjoy the sounds of the waterfall and lovely sights. The historic buildings make for a memorable backdrop to the afternoon, and the gardens are lovely.
