Domaine Enchanteur offers 15 km of beautiful ice skating trails through a forest of planted pines. The trails are wide enough that we could skate anywhere we wanted without worrying about running into people skating in the other direction. One can rent skates, helmets and snowshoes, and large metal “sleds” are available for those who don’t skate or for those who need help with their balance. Our 1 year old granddaughter rode in a sled with one parent while the other pushed. Along the paths are “petting zoo” animals you can stop to watch and feed, and there are also warming huts that can be rented (we decided not to and with the temp in the mid to upper 20s F, we didn’t need to). The cashier when we entered spoke little English and we spoke even less French, but she was gracious and resourceful and we were able to buy our tickets and figure out what to do next. There were lots of kids there (school field trips) on a weekday which infused the place with a lot of energy.

I love to skate and the five other adults in our group knew how to skate, although they hadn’t in several years. We had such a great time! It was a highlight of our winter vacation in Quebec and I would definitely go again.

We read about this place in a NY Times travel article & planned our whole vacation around it. Amazing experience! We fed the animals for about a half hour & then spent another 2 hours just winding in and out of the trails. The ice was in good shape when we were there bc it was well below freezing. There was a Zamboni working, which was fun to follow on the fresh ice. We went on a weekday around noon & it was not crowded at all, but the paths are narrow so I wouldn’t recommend going during peak hours. Overall a wonderful family outing we will always remember!

We spent a wonderful day skating on the 15 km of icy trails very well maintained by a Zamboni. Despite the temperature of the last few days the surface was passable. No outdoor rinks in the city were open. The site is really beautiful, campfires to warm up, large heated hut to put on your skates, skate rentals, on site even with the possibility of sharpening, comfortable sled chair to push children and even adults on the ice. wants to rest! Animals that you can feed and admire along the splendid trails! The staff was super friendly!! We will definitely go back 🫶

The trails are as beautiful as they appear and go on for quite a while. Services are rudimentary but adequate. However, amateur skaters be warned! They rent skates, but ONLY hockey skates - not figure skates. They claim to have figure skates, but they are modified hockey skates only with a bit of a "pick" ground into the front of the skate - still a wildly different skate. We planned our entire Quebec trip around this adventure, and given how out of the way it is, put a fair amount of resources into simply getting there. Learning how to navigate on unfamiliar equipment took a LOT of fun out of the experience - it was more stressful than anything else.

Interesting skating through forested trails. excellent ice early in the day, they use a Zamboni machine to groom the trails. good rental options.
becomes very crowded on weekends. OK snack food on site.
Petting zoo areas for young kids.

What a magical place! It's one of those gems that doesn't have a lot of signage. You just have to get there. If you go early it's best because the ice is best and there are fewer people, but even when there are lots of people it's very very fun and the people who run it are wonderful and trusting and kind and it's just a nice energy too!!

What a great winter activity. Even though the parking lot was full, there are so many trails that we didn't even notice it when we put on our skates. We skated for 3 hours with some rest time. Strongly recommended.

So cold out - minus 5 degree Fahrenheit - but with toe warmers and lots of layers we persevered. There is a nice outer track but don't miss all the fun turns on the inner tracks. They were less traveled and so the ice was smoother. Fun to see some of the animals out of their enclosures. Great not to skate in circles! Benches along the way for resting. Lots of indoor space to warm up! You get a little bottle of honey or syrup as a parting gift!

We love winter and all the associated activities that go with it, especially ice skating. Thus we were thrilled to find out that there was such a place as Domaine de la Foret Perdue with 12 km of skating trails through the woods. We brought our own skates and spent hours skating all around and exploring. The kids had races and played tag. It was a huge improvement over skating circles around a hockey rink.

Three Zambonis continuously roamed the trails ensuring that they were smooth and well-groomed. We saw many animals along the way such as deer, llamas, and cows which thrilled my 6-year-old. He liked it so much that he kept asking if we can go back again sometime, not comprehending that it is seven hours away from where we live! If we lived nearby, though, we would be here every weekend.

We had a reservation to climb that elevated labyrinth, but unfortunately that closes when the temperature drops below -10 degrees Celsius, so we were not able to climb. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady at the front desk gave my little one a maple lollipop while the gentleman at the skate rental helped my older one with a lace that had become frayed. We received tickets for a free item off their store shelf at the end of our visit and chose a bottle of real maple syrup.

I highly recommend going skating at Domaine de la Foret Perdue as it is an experience that I have not seen replicated elsewhere.

The skating entrance fee was $14 per person and they gave us tickets which could be exchanged for 2 tiny jars of their honey. The ice trail was freshly Zambonied slick and was sheltered from the wind. There were benches all around the trails to rest on. It looped and meandered through a wooded area around pens of Lamas, Alpacas, miniature Horse, Cows, Deer and Emus. The black Cow tried to taste me by licking my sleeve and then kept licking the steel fence post. I was expecting it to freeze its tongue and get stuck, but somehow it didn’t. A shaggy maned donkey had a foot long woody and when I got my camera out, he deflated. I guess he was camera shy and didn’t want to show off! Some parts of the trail had a very mild slope. We came upon a branch of the trail with a sign that it was a difficult trail and was only for professionals with a pictogram depicting a skater going uphill. We loop back to the main compound going past a trout pond with a sign advertising fresh trout meals. The main compound had facilities for putting on your skates and the picnic tables seemed to allow you to bring food in to eat. However, they do have a restaurant for you to buy food. Although cost money to skate, it was still a worthy memorable experience.
