- Flyer155059912331 contributionGreat performance.Jo Koy is amazing, hilarious. It was great to have such a great performer come to a small town like Greenbay, Wisconsin. We need more performers willing to take a chance on our small towns. We had a full house.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten October 7, 2023
- Jeanne L2 contributionsGreat talentGreat seats on the mezzanine level! We loved the energy of the talented actors, singers, and dancers. So many fabulous voices! Minimal, but bright sets allowed us to focus on all the action. Absolutely loved the large stage numbers.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten November 11, 2023
- Maggie2201413 contributionsIt’s back!Great,high-energy musical. It is wonderful to see Broadway shows back at the Weidner! Changes to the ushers (number of them, green ties and scarves to recognize them) are an improvement. No printed programs are the sole disappointment. Mike Austin was especially accommodating. If you can’t download your mobile tickets, head to the box office window to have them printed that night.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 11, 2023
- Carmela SGreen Bay, Wisconsin2 contributionsThe Weidner Center never disappoints! We attended the Holiday Pops concert, and it did not disappoint. A musical performance at the Weidner is always wonderful because of the excellent acoustics. The singing, orchestra, children's choir, and dancers were all marvelous! Many volunteers made finding our seats in the Mezzanine very easy. Our center stage seats were perfect for viewing the entire stage, as well as the singers processing in the aisles on the Orchestra level. We love the Weidner Center.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 10, 2023

- iluv4n68 contributionsFantastic Holiday Pops Concert -- Love This Theater!Wonderful holiday performance by large choirs (adult and youth), full orchestra, and dancers. Always love seeing any show in this beautiful and acoustically fantastic theater. Especially one where they fill the stage with performers and us the in-theater organ -- sensational full sound.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten December 11, 2023
- Excursion12435988061Sheboygan, Wisconsin1 contributionBest I've seenThe production was the best I've seen. The vocals were spot on . The only thing is I would have liked to see Jesus dressed in a shroud and would have liked to hear the thunder and lightning when he died. However, all in all, I was thoroughly entertained and impressed by the performance.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten February 10, 2024
- Charles S135 contributionsGreat music!Watching Harry Potter with my family and having the Orchestra playing the music for the movie was great. The orchestra was flawless. One complaint - the food that was available was expensive for what was purchased, and having only one bartender serving drinks was abysmal. The wait line for getting a drink was longer and slower than going to the bathroom. No excuse for this kind of service from an establishment like the Weidner.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten February 18, 2024
- OurCrazyJourneyWisconsin297 contributionsGreat VenueSeen a few shows at the Weidner Center we have always had a good experience overall. The bars they set up never seem to be able to handle the crowd and security to get in sometimes creates a long line. We wouldnt hesitate to see other shows at the venue.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten March 16, 2024

The performance had four professional dancers mixed in with dozens of children (students of dance/ballet). The pros were good. They symphony orchestra was exceptional. I know they were just kids, but some of the show was hard to watch. Missed cues, missed steps, dancers out of sync, etc.. It was rough. If I had paid only $20 or less per ticket, I would have been okay with this. I paid a lot more than that, and I guess that's the disappointment for me. I'm hoping that the huge price tag on our tickets had more to do with paying the orchestra and the professional dancers because I wouldn't do this again. Some of it was really painful to watch.
On the flip side, the costumes were really beautiful. The scenery was a little simplistic. The one dancer whose toe shoe ribbons completely unraveled and were loose all over the stage while trying to dance the waltz of the flowers was actually pretty extraordinary. She completely kept it together even when she knew her shoe was undone. I was impressed with her ability to maintain character and not let the frightening moment unhinge her. She did exceptionally well in finding a quick solution while not breaking the flow of the number. Good for her!

Step Afrika is a non-profit organization which is helping to expand globally the culture of dance from Africa to current modern times. The performances were incredibly well choreographed and truly entertaining as well as educational. Kudos to the team of Step Afrika and hope to see you again in Green Bay, WI!!!

The Weidner staff always do a great job hosting big events. Several local breweries gave free samples before the show and we then enjoyed a wonderful night of ballet and live music performed by the Weidner Philharmonic. It was a lot of fun.

I took the family to see "The Nutcracker." The theatre, setting, costumes, and dances were beautiful. The only disappointment is that the advertising for the show was misleading. Up until the curtain opened to display the second curtain, the show was advertised as "The Nutcracker." I always knew there would be some ballet in the show but I didn't expect it to be a full-blown ballet performance with no dialogue or narrative. Without words, it was extremely hard for people to interrupt the story, especially those who had never seen The Nutcracker. If you're going to just see people dance on stage for 2 hours without a single word, it's a wonderful show. Otherwise, don't expect a play with ballet.
