- MapsnMemories22 contributionsSeaside stroll at Sea Cliff BridgeWe were fortunate to find a carpark near Rube Hargrave Park - it was like finding a needle in a haystack (Sunday afternoon). There also were a few 'street parks' on both ends of the bridge. We found most people were stopping for a photo opportunity, not a walk, so hopefully the spaces turned over quickly. We enjoyed a stroll down onto the bridge to more fully appreciate the complexity of its construction, and the beauty of its location. Quite a feat and worth a short stop. Tip: Stop at Bald Hill Headland Reserve for a "bird's eye" view of the bridge - about a 15 minute drive away. Toilets and refreshments available.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten October 7, 2023
- Peter BBrisbane, Australia34 contributionsGreat driveNot promoted enough if at all. Saw images in advertisements for products and researched about where the bridge is. A great drive and experience. There should be larger and better planned parking for those who want to walk the bridge. Fantastic views with the cliffs and ocean so close.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 23, 2023
- LeannieHanoi, Vietnam2,499 contributionsWorth the drive for the viewsEven on a cloudy day, this is stunning to drive over! We took a slight diversion en route to syndey to go over this, and I am glad we did! Little windy in places, especially in our campervan but we'll worth it for the views.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2023
- CarloHelmondHelmond, The Netherlands725 contributionsNice piece of constructionIt takes a little bit of a detour when driving from Canberra to Sydney, but we thought it was worthwhile. Keep in mind that there is not much room to park a car or an RV in our case. We drove across the bridge, turned around and then drove back and then found a spot to park the RV, get out and walk a little bit on the bridge and be able to take some pictures. I think it is pretty cool to look atVisited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 28, 2024

One of those must visit and do sights when in the near vicinity. Parking during weekends and holidays is at a premium and may require those wishing to walk the bridge to walk just a little more than the bridge itself. Still it is one of those activities which may well feature on “gumboot lists” and is a fun thing to do.

This place has become famous on Instagram. It is a little steep to get to this lookout but there are ropes all the way. The entrance is hidden in the bushes and you have to climb over roots to find the way. DO NOT GO when it RAINS cause the soil will be muddy and it makes it very hard to get up. The view is just stunning. I wouldn't suggest going with kids under 5.

Travelled back to Wollongong from Kellys Falls, Helensburg. Great drive down the coast road. The Sea Cliff Road view from up at Stanwell Tops is amazing. The drive to the bridge was so scenic and then on and over the bridge made our 1/2 day round tripadventure from Wollongong

Don't bother. Unless you go perhaps at the crack of dawn. What should be one of the most wonderful scenic walks in the country is spoiled by by an almost constant conga line of loud and backfiring motorbike and car exhausts. At best, it's mildly annoying but at worst, in peak times on the weekends, particularly Sundays, these d**kheads in loud, sometimes earsplitting cars and bikes render the ambience of the walk closer to that of Passchendaele circa 1917 than that of a coastal surf vista.

We drove this route north to south just before sunset on our way to Kiama. There is a parking bay at the southern end of the bridge. You can get off there and walk a bit along the bridge (there is a walking path)
.
We did manage to fly the drone here as you really get a true sense of how the bridge hugs the coastline from above. There aren't any boards just yet about drone flying, so you can get some stunning images on a good day. Couldn't take my little mini too far though as it was quite windy.
The Stanwell lookout just north of the Seacliff Bridge is another spot to get an aerial view without a drone (though it's just a bit too far).
We heard about the secret path which goes up along the side of the cliff to get aerial views, but as it isn't a marked path and there have been many accidents, we decided to skip it.

An absolute masterpiece of a bridge! We drove it (twice!) and walked it. The views are spectacular and you can see remnants of the old road against the cliff. Unfortunately, parking is minimal, so if you want to walk it, go in off peak season.

We parked on the southern side of the Sea Cliff Bridge walk as it is only a short walk from there to the start of the walk across the Bridge. It is a great walk with many photo opportunities. At the beginning of the walk on the southern side, it is disappointing to see that the Information Boards are almost illegible. These should be replaced so visitors can see the story and history about the construction of the bridge. We spent approximately 30 minutes on the walk as it started to rain, so we didn't get all the way to the other end. Another time.

Hi we (the girls) went by train and the guys went buy car. We got of at coal cliff station, don't forget to tap off when you get off the train, because once you have crossed the bridge, there isn't a tap off the other side! We had to go back over the bridge!! There's a lot of step going from the platform, and over the bridge and then down another set of steps . We had a baby in a pram, so was quite an effort. It took us about five minutes to walk to the picnics site by the beach and about another five mins to the start of the bridge. It's a beautiful walk and well worth the trip.
