For years, as we travelled as a family north on vacation, we passed by signs that signaled the Horicon Marsh Preserve. Recently, I saw a special deal for a very old, cool hotel in Mayville, Wisconsin, just a short distance from Horicon. We decided to do an overnight, taking the boat ride on the marsh. It was an excellent idea.... More

This boat tour was a nice trip for our group. Despite not seeing many birds (late October trip), we learned a lot about the area, guide was comical, and the scenery was amazing. We will definitely return again in May and July to experience the changes of the marsh. Definitely recommended thing to do.

The tour of the wildlife by someone who can name each species is unique. The area is especially interesting at sunset. There is a sunset drink and boat (not sure actual name anymore) that is quite unique. It makes the waiting more palatable.

We spent the day in Horicon on a beautiful day in September. The boat tour was very relaxing and informative. Mark our tour guide was a wealth of information about the marsh and the wildlife that inhabits it. Luckily for us our tour was the week before duck hunting commenced or it may have been an whole different experience!!! The... More

This Boat tour is well worth your time and money. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. It was fun to get to see different types of birds, Including an Eagle, different vegetation and learn history about the Marsh. The ride was about an hour long, it was the perfect amount on time. I can't... More

It was a wonderful tour of the marsh. NO MOSQUITOES!!! The guide was very knowledgeable of the area he has been giving tours for many years and says that each outing is different. We got to see a variety of birds and a couple of beaver. It was about 2 hours and it flew by. The marsh is a lot... More

Seeing the Horicon Marsh from the water was definitely worth it! Pleasant being in the pontoon boat, with interesting and mostly entertaining comments from guide. Lots of birds to see, some other animals, and local history.

Have been at the Horicon Marsh in the fall but didn't realize how sparse the birds/wild life is at this time of year. The 20 minute video prior to the boat tour was very interesting. But the 25 minute up and 25 minute back was less than interesting. I did learn about the John Deere plant though but it's not... More
