I'm a bit of a civil war buff but only accidentally found out about this place whilst my wife was shopping in Kenosha. It was fantastic. The actual museum is fairly light in detail but suited my ten and six year old daughters fine - they loved the dioramas and 360 movie and had a lot of fun with the... More

I spent several hours here recently, and it was well worth the trip from Chicago. Quite large for a Civil War museum -- don't think this is just some small town display. It focuses on the Midwest's role in the war, but there are exhibits that tell the story of how the conflict developed early in the century, cover the... More

Thank you for making the trip to come see us! We're glad you thought the experience was worth it. It can be a bit confusing to make your way through the exhibit, but on the bright side there isn't any "right" path to follow. You're free to explore different stories that interest you, which ensures that every visit is different.... More

Plan your visit to watch "Seeing the Elephant," 360 surround style movie giving a glimpse into life of an enlisted man. It runs for 10 minutes at the top of every hour in the center of the main exhibit which (if you follow the map given at the door ... go to your right- oops, we went left.) Get glimpses... More

The video shown at this museum is a 360 degree screen, it is all around you and you are basically in the middle when the guns and cannons begin to shoot, it is very cool to see and be a part of. There are a lot of things to read, but it is a museum, so that is to be... More

Thanks for the review! We do have a lot of information on display, and for our visitors who like to come often there's always something new for them to discover. The subject of the Civil War can be a bit tough for kids to get interested in, but we have a lot of events throughout the year which use fun... More

This museum focuses on the midwest states contributions and losses in the Civil War. There is a lot to read in this small museum. The 360 degree movie was a very nice and interesting surprise. Worth the money.

Everything here is wonderful, very informative and many things we did not know about. Admission is very reasonable and they have a nice gift shop. Do make sure you have at east a few hours to also take in the incredible movie.

We were pleasantly surprised by this museum! Plan to spend 1-2 hours here to really take everything in. Displays are interactive and the 360 degree movie gives you a good idea what the soldiers may have experienced on the battlefield.

I had pretty low expectations due to the location of this Museum. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Many more exhibits than I expected and very detailed and comprehensive displays.

This is unlike most museums. You are actually in it & take an active part. U see how people during that time lived, pop culture, & really learned how the nation ticked, & the Civil War still lives in our memory. This is three hours plus to fully absorb everything. When u read this, stop & plan your visit.
