This is the first time we visited the museum. There was a cool movie poster and guitar exhibits. I got to talk to an artist who will be showing his work in the spring. He was setting up to paint a picture on canvas with acrylic paint. The building it self was interesting with a great view of the marina.

It's a fun place to go to teach kids about history. They have a lot to offer. The kids will enjoy a little hands on and all the animals that are stuffed in one room. You could also take a trolley from there and go to other museums in Kenosha.

My wife Judy and I visited this museum last Thursday afternoon because we saw an article about a model train display, due to be changed February 7, 2017. Convenient parking serviced by good roads and the Kenosha Historical Trolley Syster. Overlooks Lake Michigan to the East; Slight slopes in walkways. When we entered he apron approach, the model trains were... More

As others have said...it is clean, spacious..free... The first floor permanent exhibits are very well done..especially the mastodon and mammoth displays. The views of the lake and the harbor area are photo worthy.. Nice gift shop, too!

Whoever designed the native american and the dinosaur exhibits did not think about handicap accessibility. The floor is extremely rough for using a wheelchair, walker or a cane. It is designed as if there are foot prints and ridges throughout the exhibit - very difficult to navigate for those are mobility impaired. Designing with all abilities in mind is the... More

Visiting from out of town, I was told to visit this local museum. Very interesting learning about the history of this area and about the Indians in this area. I never knew that mastodons were edible - Indians ate them. Also, special exhibition on movie posters used during the Drive In movie era, specially horror movies. Also, a collection of... More

Enjoyed the Native American exhibit and also A Century of Guitars. Recommend for the entire family as it is free with a donation suggested. Within walking distance of the Civil War Museum and restaurants in downtown Kenosha. Right on the trolley route. We took the train from Chicago suburbs and then the trolley so very easy without a lot of... More
