OMG Beautiful!

Worth the drive up! It was great to view the entire city from this location. My son and I loved it. Husband, afraid of heights, not so much.

As good as advertised, this is a must-see if visiting LaCrosse. Area is well maintained and accessible for several people to enjoy at once.

We drove to the top and enjoyed the view. We watched several eagles flying around the area right in front of us. There were plenty of areas to sit, observe and take pictures. The one thing we couldn't find was a "YOUR ARE HERE"map to gain perspective of all that we could see. Being new to the area, we were... More

It was a cold, windy day in March when we visited, but the views were still spectacular! We will go again in the spring or summer when it's warmer. There is a shelter which I imagine can be used for reunions, etc.

Stopped on our way out of La Crosse even though it was overcast and foggy that morning and we couldn't see much. I bet this area would be beautiful in the summer and fall. Midwesterners are a hearty people though, and you could hear people on the surrounding trails even though it wasn't the greatest of days. I have to... More

We picked a blustery tail-end of winter day to visit Grandad's. A biting cold wind chased us around the scenic points, but could not detract from the great views down into the town and over the Mississippi river wetlands. Opportunities for hiking and picnics are everywhere and would be wonderful on a warmer day. There is a roofed pavilion with... More

Quite a drive up the hill that will reward you with an excellent view of the area. We were there in the winter and couldn’t take advantage of the hiking options but did enjoy looking out from the peak.

Any visit to La Crosse should include a trip to Grandad Bluff. Perched high above the city, on a clear day you can see for miles and it allows the visitor to see all of La Crosse in its lovely glory. Heaven on a stick, I tell you!

Nice overview of the whole town, very accessible and well laid out paths with great viewing areas. Just a shame that the public toilets were all locked, with a sign to use the portaloos which we couldn't find. The lack these facilities have lowered my rating.

We stopped with friends this past weekend and it was very cool. It is a steep drive, but good roads. There is a very nice structure and look-out area. It was a little chilly the day we stopped, but on a nice day, we would probably stop for a while. It is an excellent free option while you are in... More
