This is in the same building as the Barlow Planetarium, which is also a fun activity. Education about the great lakes and Wisconsin and beyond. Very informative, lots of rocks for kids to touch along with actual dinosaur bones too. Some activities, a video about...More

This is a tiny museum inside the Fox Valley Campus. It had a variety of exhibits and only took about 20 minutes to tour. If you stop and read every sign or really love geology you might spend more time here. Cute idea on how...More

It’s inside a college campus, which also houses a planetarium. Odd, but interesting. Beautiful displays of gems/rocks/minerals. Minecraft themed displays. Had odd video playing. Not sure if it was a joke or part of the display. Gift shop was amazing! Lots of modest priced treasures...More

Small but great. A nice hands-on museum that kids like without being overwhelming. Incredible gem and mineral display for a smaller museum.

I went here originally because I was told there are experts in geology available that could identify a couple of rocks and small fossils I picked up in Europe last year. They people there were helpful, and the exhibits of the geological history of Wisconsin...More

I've used that title before, because it fits several smaller gems we have in the area. This museum, though small, has an outstanding collection of gems and the geologic timeline of Wisconsin exhibit is well presented and laid out. Sure, it is heavy science at...More

While waiting for the Barlow Planetarium show [around the corner from the Museum in the same building], we took our 7, 9 & 10-year old granddaughters to this Museum. It's small, so the ticket price is right - $1 for children $3 for adults. There...More

When not able to get out rock collecting, go here. No charge for the rock shop and they have many pieces to choose from. Also, a great selection for young collectors. The gal behind the counter is very well informed, too.
