My teenage daughter wanted to check this out. Very cool. She's planning on attending college in Milwaukee and we decided that when winter hits, she could always visit the desert dome! Nothing amazing but just a nice visit.

Very fun family activity to fill a couple of hours - especially on a rainy or snowy day! Two domes provide a whole world of plants in either a desert or tropical rain forest environment. The third dome changes themes and was nice but not...More

Had to look hard to find the plant names! Don't think the experience was worth the price of the admission.... been there, done that --- won't do again!

The unique domes are on their last legs and may disappear from the Milwaukee skyline unless civic leaders step up and determine to save this local landmark. This is a great place for a family to walk, hold a party or have a romantic stroll....More

The three domes caught out attention and was well worth the visit. The entrance fee was reasonable. The "Fairy Garden' was a little bland but the desert and tropical ones were fantastic!

Three egg shaped domes comprise the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory. It takes a while to experience the space and scale of these domes and I guess I prefer the more traditional turn of the century greenhouse structures of other botanical gardens around the country. The...More

There are three geodesic domes, each with a different "atmosphere" with native flora from desert to jungle. Interesting mostly to people who are extremely involved with gardening. It was a pleasant diversion.

I haven't been to the domes in over 30 years and it did not disappoint. The retro look adds to the appeal and the displays in each dome are truly remarkable. Take the time to soak in the surroundings and pay attention to all of...More

Unfortunately those two (Tropical and Desert Exhibitions) are still closed. They are saying that they might open in fall. The admission is $3.00 for every person until the other two domes are open. The only one that is open... More

Yes, that would be a wonderful time to see the Domes - get out of the cold and enjoy the warmth and color of the beautiful flowers. Great little gift shop, too!
