It is unlikely you will recognize 99% of the artists, mostly European. The art here depicts people in the past 500 years at work. You can actually watch jobs as they evolved over time. Much of the technical skills are not up to your A...More

In an age before cameras these artists captured the everyday tasks of workman doing their jobs. The work wasn't flashy, it was hard and dirty and dangerous but had to be done by people, not machines. This art was in a private collection but ran...More

If this museum was in Europe it would be ranked as one of the top 4!! Very interesting collection - well laid out, and not an aristocrat in any painting. All ordinary people at work. The rooftop figures left me cold though.

This museum is well worth a visit. You are directed to start at the rooftop sculpture garden and work your way down the 4 floors. The sculptures were impressive, maybe 8 feet tall and mostly of men doing traditional work. There were some wonderful paintings...More

Paintings of working men and women from 1500s to the present. Quarries, builders, money lenders, weavers, brewers, factory workers, an amazing variety of workers. Also bronze sculptures. A must see for our visitors.

Most folks from Milwaukee have never visited this fantastic museum with art focused on American industry. There are sculptures, paintings and artifacts. One of the best entertainment dollars in Milwaukee.

This is truly a hidden gem. The mosaic on the lobby floor sets the tone for a very worthwhile museum collection. Don't miss the stained glass in the office on the rooftop.

Had this museum all to myself on a Friday morning, which was both great and sad. Great because this is the most interesting art museum I've ever been to and I got to enjoy it without interruption. Sad, because I suspect people overlook this magnificent...More

Grohmann is North of the main downtown area, so depending on when you go street parking is fairly accessable. There aren't any lots really close by, but if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks there are a number of lots... More
