So glad this area did not get demolished. A couple of blocks of old Milwaukee preserved and filled with bars restaurants and artisan stores. Take time to read the notice boards that give the history of the area.

The industrial look of this area is pretty cool. The stores are unique and interesting. You could spend a good part of a day window shopping.

I would go to the art museum and eat there. Pretty lake views even if art isn't your thing. And there are a couple of places to eat there that have good quality food.

I was there over the Labor Day weekend and they had a huge Arts and Crafts show, and live music. Their were quite a few family's there but the weather was perfect, what time of year are you going?
