The mansion is easy to find; we parked on the street. Admission is by donation. There was a volunteer at the front who answered questions. Due to Covid only the main floor and second floors were open. It was a self guided tour. Many of the things in the home are original. The rooms are beautifully decorated and there are photos of all the governors and their wives that lived in the home including the first woman governor in the US. It was a shame that we could not see the third floor or basement. We spent approximately 30-40min in the home.

After self-touring the Wyoming State Capitol building, we stopped to self-tour the historic governors' mansion. The house is a beautiful structure. Inside, the various rooms are like time capsules displaying moments in time for the most recent occupants. A friendly docent was happy to answer questions.

Wyoming boasts the first female governor in the United States. As such, she had the opportunity to live in this house that was build in the early 1900s and renovated in 2017. Becausevof the amount of history in this house, each room in the house highlights a different era. You start in the 1st floor library which has the only two pieces of furniture from when the house was built. As you go through all four floors, you will see how the technology in the house evolved. This was a fascinating piece of history. This is a self-guided tour, but can be supplemented with printed matetials, touchscreens in every room, and a volunteer docent.

My wife and I visited the Governor's mansion for the first time, the staff was very knowledgeable and were glad to show us around even though we arrived right about closing time. They answered questions and made sure that we saw everything. Great staff, kudos for a job well done.

Went with the family during the Christmas holidays. They've done a great job on decorating the place. The attention to details are amazing. Home were just made differently back then. Thanks for offering some free things to do and sharing the history.

History I lived through, this was like a step back in time for me so many of the items on display in this house reminded me of my childhood the toys in the childrens bedroom the decor of the master bedroom and bathroom oh how wonderfull it is to see these things preserved, the typwrite almost identical to mine the heated hair rollers still have mne in the cupboard, not really that long ago but so important to keep those times alive for future generations to see how things have changed.

Self tour of pretty much every single room in the place - 3 floors and basement. In many ways my favorite kind of tour - just wander through - if you have questions, ask. Docent was eager to talk - about the house or just life in Wyoming :) Lots of period objects, with decent explanation of why/how the rooms were decorated in period (varies, depending on the room). Think of this as an enjoyable slice of life experience, a step back in time, where real people lived - upper middle class maybe, but not too different from you and me. Thoroughly pleasant, above expectations and best of all FREE :)

You can tour the mansion and see the various rooms and here about certain things, but it's nothing special unless you are really a history buff. Children aren't really interested in this type of thing, so go to the State museum instead for them.

Thank you for your feedback. We try to accommodate all age groups, however we certainly understand sometimes the interaction with the mansion is limited with children. We do offer scavenger hunts for the children (and adults if their interested) to make their visit more enjoyable. We love having folks come out an learn the history of the mansion and the governors who resided here. Whether you are a history buff or not we hope everyone's visit can be both educational and enjoyable at the same time. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to take your feedback and work to make each ones visit fun and enjoyable for all ages.

My granddaughters loved going through the old Governor's mansion. We spent much more time than what I thought we would need. They explored each room and ask great questions. They are 6 and 9. We talked about living during the early 1900's and how difficult that would be.
