This museum houses a wonderful and insightful view into the lives of the Plains Indians. One walks away feeling not only a sense of the hardships they endured, but the beautiful art they created, and craftsmanship they used on a daily basis. Highly recommended.

The Buffalo Bill Museum is a must see if you are in Cody. But plan on a two day visit as it is very large with many artifacts. I loved the Plains Indian section and recommend it highly. Wear your walking shoes.

This is quite a bit deeper than the Museum of the American Indian in DC thanks to acquiring the Paul Dyck comprehensive 19th century collection of many thousands of significant and unique pieces from most of the Plains tribes.

This was the first part of this museum complex we wanted to see and we are so glad we did it first. There is so much to see and admire and it took so much time. It was well worth it. The artifacts are outstanding - what workmanship! A must do!

So many things to look at and learn about the Indians and their lifestyle. From teepees to hunting and clothing.

A good collection of things related to the history of the Native Americans that give you a better idea of they way they lived.

This is simply an outstanding museum. If you are at all sensitive to the effects of the European invasion of native cultures, this museum is guaranteed to make you squirm a bit, but in a way that may remind you that immigration in not a new problem, and is not reserved for "Whites Only".
