This lake behind the dam is fairly large and good for boating in the summer months, fishing and skiing plenty of campgrounds around the lake for those that just want to get away and relax.

This is a long lake that traces the river for miles. The are State camping grounds along the lake and several pull off locations along the route.

This was a quick stop on our drive from Yellowstone to Cody. Friendly staff. Clean toilets. A passport stop for those collecting cancellations in NPS passport. Absolutely beautiful spot to look at mountain and water.

The view of the Buffalo Bill Reservoir was just beautiful driving in towards Cody from East park entrance. We stopped to enjoy the view and noticed several folks out on the water. We didn't have time for more than to just take in the view.

Enjoyed our visit to the Buffalo Bill Reservoir - was interesting to watch the film on how they built the dam and walk on the bridge over the dam. No fee to view. Nice museum.

We stopped to see the gates open below the dam and were amazed at the mist across the canyon. Very good history of the area was available. Must stop if you go to Cody.
