The Campbell County Rockpile Museum serves as the local history center for the residents of and visitors to Campbell County with the mission of collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Campbell County and northeast Wyoming. Exhibits boast a variety of topics, including archaic arrowheads, Winchester rifles and carbines, coal mining, homesteading and ranching, and leather-working. There are also several hands-on stations to provide kids with a fun learning experience. Open 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Saturday. Free.

Nice, small town museum depicting life in rural Wyoming. Great films on mining & energy production. There are "sheep wagons" that look like rustic RVs, you can enter one of them & take pictures. Nice wagons & an old style voting booth. Handicap accessible. Free...More

This museum had a little bit for everyone. Very nice collection and displayed very well. Well worth the time. We spent a little over an hour.

We visited the Rockpile Museum while attending a rally at CamPlex. I thought one of the highlights was a display dedicated to the USO during WWII. There were photos of several of the stars who entertained the troops and a couple of old videos of...More

Just your average "how this town came to be" museum. Nothing that really stood out. Coal, oil, railroad, ranching, who's who.

Stopped in Gillette while traveling west. Found this delightful museum. Interesting to see the pride of the community. Nice collections Staff very friendly and helpful.

small but free western theme museum in Gillette... worth the stop and hour walk thru when here. There is a geo cache on the site.
