This clean park has a small playground area (Including a small "splash" area (i.e., water fun), and also a nice bike/jogging path along a river. Entrance is free. The park is a National Historical Site because it was the starting point for two expeditions down...More

Overall Green River is an amazing little town. Expedition Island, the splash pad, and the walk along the river are all amazing. Take the time to read some of the interpretive signs along the walk. You will learn a lot about the area.

Picknicked here while travelling south. Clean park with nice lawns and picknick tables. Possibility to play in the Green River. Quiet in this week day and no mosquito to be seen.

John Muir started his expedition here. Not really why I liked it. Quiet and peaceful. The walk connects a series of parks, so you have restrooms and garbages along the way. Nice and breezy on a hot day.

I enjoy fishing around the Island. Various organizations I am involved with have hosted or attended events at the Pavilion and the grounds of the park.

This is a very pleasant park...it fronts the river, has trees, grass, playground equipment, and picnic areas. However, this is nothing the traveler should go out of his way to visit other than to enjoy looking at the river.
