My wife and I did this tour and our tour guide, Zane, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the volcanoes on the big island and shared all that information with us. My wife and I were extremely happy with Zane and the other...More

We took a cruise excursion to see the Volcanos National Park. With little time we opted for a guided tour, in a smaller bus and a smaller group. Bear was our guide, and he was very informative, courteous, and an encyclopedia of local flora and...More

If you like spending half a day going to shops then missing part of the park. Skip this tour group. Lunch stop take away food. Totally not impressed. You look at volcanic rock. Then miss what you went to see. Apparently better in there winter...More

Our tour started with a private guided hike through lava fields to Kilauea. Mark was great at providing information and answering questions. The lava fields look like a different planet! The lava is black but has glasslike slivers so they are very reflective. Arrived at...More

Loved our tour here with Gray tours. We learnt so much and saw so much it was amazing. Could not fault our driver or his commentary. Saw a lava tube and the lava flow from 1974, we walked on it. One of the best days...More

Mark was a great guide. He took us to see out-of-the-way spots like a lava tube, beaches (where we saw sea turtles), and a local outdoor restaurant. We hiked a couple miles to see a lava firehose. We could see lava flowing from a cliff...More

This tour is far too long - almost everything before lunch could be left off (parks, orchid farms, macadamia plantations) as what everyone actually wants to see is the volcanoes! The brochure says that 'viewing of molten lava IS NOT guaranteed' but what they should...More

We couldn't have been more pleased, as we were at the National Park when we could see the amazing ring of fire. The crater itself with the smoke coming out is a sight to behold, but add the fire, and it is pretty incredible. We...More

Kona has a lot to offer. Even the Big Island is small and from Kona you can take day trips to Waipo Valley, Volcanoes, south point and Hilo. Make sure you take a snorkeling tour and swim with the manta rays.

I wouldn't take the time and expense to fly to the big island and take the tour. The tour is great if you are already there but not worth flying over there for it.
