The house tour here is very interesting giving insight into the lives of the missionaries who came here and changed the destiny of these islands. Not far from the main part of Hilo. There is a fee for the tour. We had a good guide.

Lovely gift shop, helpful staff and beautiful exhibits make this a worth-while stop, along with a tour of the Lyman House next door.

This is worth your time -- well done -- nice displays and appropriately educational. Take kids and folks who want to know about early days, the early mission school, geology of islands, etc. Old house is also interesting but somewhat expected contents.
